COUNSELOR IN TRAINING (CIT) PROGRAM

OUR APPROACHREGISTRATION

WHAT IS THE CIT PROGRAM?

The CIT (counselor-in-training) program is a structured, supportive summer experience at Kids ELITE Sports where middle school students, which includes rising 9th graders, begin learning what it takes to be a great camp leader and future counselor.

This is ideal for young teens looking to develop leadership and/or organizational skills and/or who hope to become full-fledged counselors once they enter high school.

As a CIT, your child will:

  • Gain hands-on experience working with younger campers.
  • Learn important life and leadership skills — like communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and organization.
  • Participate in a fun and growth-focused environment that Kids Elite is known for, including sports, games, and group activities.
  • Build confidence and responsibility in a safe, structured setting.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting counselors with group activities and camper supervision
  • Helping organize games and sports rotations
  • Supporting younger kids with encouragement and positive role modeling
  • Learning behind-the-scenes camp operations and teamwork skills

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

This opportunity is perfect for your rising high-schooler (13–14 years old) who:

  • Love being active and around kids.
  • Want to build leadership and communication skills.
  • Is thinking about camp leadership, youth development, and sports organization roles in the future.

INTERESTED? NEXT STEPS:

  1. Register your child for the 2026 CIT Training Program.
  2. After registration, you will receive a link for your child to complete the Kids ELITE counselor application. Help your child fill out the counselor/CIT application to choose specific shifts and preferences.
  3. Have your child complete their Letter of Intent (LOI).
